EPISODE 75: THE IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION W MARIA RENDON

In this episode we sit down with Maria Rendon, professor at UC Irvine where she conducts research and teaches in the topics of urban sociology, immigration, poverty and social inequality.  Maria was the first one of her family to attend college and received her PhD in Sociology and Social Policy from Harvard University.  

Maria is a single mom and has two beautiful little girls, she shares with us  tips on how to talk to our kids about subjects like race, politics and immigration.  Education and information is the best tool we can give our children to prepare them during this rough political and social climate we are living in today.  

She also shares with us an incredible list of children's books that we all must have in our collection that touch on all these different subjects.
