It's Coming! “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge” Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood

We’re halfway through the year, but we’re already counting down to 2023!

Universal Studios Hollywood has revealed details on SUPER NINTENDO WORLD’s signature ride, “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge” Ride. The highly-anticipated opening of SUPER NINTENDO WORLD at Universal Studios Hollywood represents the first SUPER NINTENDO WORLD to debut in the United States, designed to transport theme park guests and Nintendo® fans into the world of Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach to be part of the Mushroom Kingdom.

The immersive land will be a visual spectacle of vibrant colors and architectural ingenuity located within a newly expanded area of Universal Studios Hollywood that will feature the groundbreaking ride, “Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge,” and interactive areas, to be enjoyed by the whole family, along with themed shopping and dining to enhance the entire experience.

The sophisticated ride is a multi-sensory cornucopia of color, sound and movement that invites guests to navigate familiar environs through the creative use and integration of head mounted augmented reality (AR) goggles—a key point of differentiation that distinguishes this ride from other theme park attractions.

The premise is simple but equally inspiring and challenging and will appeal to guests of all ages regardless of gaming experience. As part of Team Mario, guests will steer through courses underwater and in the clouds to compete for the Golden Cup while collecting coins to defeat Team Bowser and win.

We’re so excited to create new memories with our children while reliving childhood memories of some of our favorite characters including Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Bowser.

Watch the video below for a sneak peek of the new ride!

More information and details will be shared soon. In the meantime, guests can visit www.UniversalStudiosHollywood.com for theme park updates. Like Universal Studios Hollywood on Facebook and follow @UniStudios on Instagram and Twitter.

Nighttime Zoo at the San Diego Zoo for Summer 2022

School is finally out for summer! If you’re looking for a fun trip to take with the family, you have to plan a day - and night! - at the San Diego Zoo.

From June 3 through Sept. 5, join the Zoo for Nighttime Zoo, a summertime experience that offers guests the chance to explore the Zoo at night, when it’s usually closed to the public. The Zoo will be open late and filled with live entertainment from a variety of artists, special summer treats, and an opportunity to see wildlife from a different perspective. At every turn, Zoo-goers will be enchanted by musical performers, dancers, acrobats, and crowd favorite Dr. Zoolittle, among others.

Nighttime Zoo also provides explorers of all ages the chance to see the new Denny Sanford Wildlife Explorers Basecamp like never before. This 3.2-acre environment blends immersive technology with opportunities to check out extraordinary wildlife species, and it’s designed to serve as a launch pad for budding conservationists. Wildlife Explorers Basecamp is divided into four types of habitats and features the wildlife that live in these areas—Rainforest, Wild Woods, Marsh Meadows and Desert Dunes. For the first time ever, Nighttime Zoo visitors will get to see their favorite nocturnal wildlife from each habitat when they’re most active, including caimans, an ocelot, a tamandua, a prehensile-tailed porcupine, scorpions, a coconut crab, fennec foxes, and more!

With each visit during Nighttime Zoo this summer, wildlife allies will help support San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance in its mission to save wildlife worldwide and help create a world where all life thrives.
