Superbowl is almost here and if you’re anything like us, you’re already planning out your menu to host your friends and family. Havana-Boo-La-La: A Halloween Party For Adults

DSC_2475.jpg

Halloween is almost here! That means it’s the beginning of the most wonderful time of the year. As a kid, you carve pumpkins, dress up as your favorite character or person to go trick-or-treating, and best of all, eat lots of candy. But who says all the fun has to stop when you’re an adult? Our friend Evelyn of Harlow Planning, along with a few of our other party planning amigas, put together the cutest themed party for your adults-only halloween party with inspiration from items that they already had around their homes.

Take Halloween to an island full of color, spice and flair. This styled shoot embodies the essence of Cuban culture and provides a glimpse of what Halloween might look like at abuelita’s house in the 50s.

Your guests will walk into to a table featuring a lush, black palm runner and rich colorful island florals, platanos, coconuts, congas, and the traditional bottle of Cuban wine to rinse it all down. They’ll relax in a vibrant lounge with the richest cafecito and freshly rolled cigars - the perfect setting to have Tia read your fortune.

If there’s room for dessert (and there’s always room for dessert), head over to the pantry for a slice of spooky papaya cake and coconut cotton candy. Finally, finish in abuelita’s garden, sipping on mint and pineapple mojito floats. And before you leave, be sure to give abuelita un abrazo; you can find her in the pantry with her traditional headpiece on.

Truth is, you can plan an incredible party for any holiday with items you have at home! Plates from the motherland, store bought dessert on a cake stand, decorations from the dollar store displayed on colorful placemats already in your cabinets.
