It’s the weekend of love! 🥰 It’s a time to show the ones closest to you a little extra love than normal - from your partner to the kids, even the family dog. We all deserve a little extra love, especially after this year!
If you’re looking for a fun family activity and an easy recipe to make that everyone will enjoy, this is it! All the directions and even step by step images are below. I made this with the girls earlier this week and we ate them up, and we’re ready to make more on Sunday. Get the kids to surprise their super mama or super papa in bed with breakfast, or make a picnic spread in the backyard for a Valentine’s Day breakfast. It’ll make for a great start to the day + holiday!

Churro French Toast Bites
Ingredients
10 slices of slightly stale bread
2 eggs
1 cup milk
A few drops of vanilla (optional)
Dash of salt
2 tablespoons butter for frying
2 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons of sugar
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
Nutella, chocolate or maple syrup for serving
Preparation
Use a small heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the hearts from the bread. Make sure you leave the bread for a few hours or even over night, as this will help it soak up more of the egg mixture without falling apart or losing its shape!
Beat the egg with milk, vanilla and salt in a bowl. Put it aside.
Mix cinnamon, sugar & brown sugar in a separate bowl. Put it aside.
In a pan over medium-high heat, melt the butter. Reduce the heat to medium-low.
Dip each heart in egg mixture and coat both sides, being careful not to let it soak too much or they will lose their shape. Shake off excess egg mixture.
Place the bread in the pan and fry about 45 seconds per side.
Transfer the hearts into the bowl with cinnamon-brown sugar mixture. Coat well!
Serve with a side of Nutella, chocolate or syrup. Enjoy! 😋
